Broken: Lowery Park Zoo flyer
The pricing scheme below is on the back of a flyer for the Lowery Park Zoo in Tampa Florida:
Adults ( ages 12-49)
Seniors (60+)
Children ( Ages 3-11)
Ages 2 and under are FREE
How much is admission for people that are between 50-59?
Or are people between the ages of 50-59 not allowed to visit the zoo?
Yeah, 12 is generally when you have to pay adult price at buffets and movie theaters, why not zoos?
I've never understood why they charge a different price for kids on anything but food anyway. It's not like the 3-11 year olds are going to look at the monkeys any less than the 12-17 group. If anything, they should charge 18+ less because they're only there to take the kids. Seniors get a discount because its only right.
When I become dictator there will be a law dictating that only adults can be charged adult prices. You can charge 12yr olds $15 but you cant call it an adult price.
Places will be allowed to charge short and tall prices if they want.
While this is obviously broken, and I'm sure they got plenty of calls about it, its a boring, simple typo... either the 4 was supposed to be a 5 or the 6 was supposed to be a five...
What I really want to know is what is up with the baby orangutan's hairdo? I'm surprised his mother let him go out in public like that!
What's truly broken are those prices! Not only that, but kids have to wear shoes in water play areas. Who's idea was that?
Actually, ebob, those are pretty good prices. It's a very nice zoo.
And I agree with Memnon about the baby's hair. It's wierd O_o.
[And it's "Lowry"]
Great shades of Caesar's ghost, those prices are insane even with the coupon! Used to be you could take your young'uns to the zoo without having to take out a second mortgage. According to their own website, the zoo is only about 40 acres. Many free zoos are larger and just as nice. I never heard of kids having to wear shoes in water play areas, though. This place is in Florida for cryin' out loud. Sounds like some management type has his panties in a knot.
Those of you who think the prices are expensive should definitely never move to San Diego, where the zoo is awesome, but costs $22.00 child, $33.00 adult.
What's broken is also the PRICES.. on the sign it clearly states, 'Tampry's Lowerly Park is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization'.
You'd think they wouldn't need that high of prices to maintain the park without making profit..

Not to mention...
They consider 12-17 year olds adults? Good one.
