Broken: Reef sandals bottle opener
These Reef sandals have a bottle opener built into the sole, which is convenient, and a very clever design, but not very sanitary. Who knows what you walked on before you open the bottle with the bottom of your sandal!
Heck, I couldn't see using that at all, not even fresh out of the package. Who knows what chemicals from the manufacturing plant could be on it?
It is a nice concept, just not practical.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't think that folks who want a bottle opener in their flip-flops really care all too much about what they stepped in last.
Besides, it's not like the whole sandal is wiggling it's way into the drink (presumably beer) and swishing around a few times. It's just poppin' the top.
the only part that touches the bottle shoud be the metal part, the sandle only touches the cap, which is garbage anyway (anyone re-cap bottles?) and i agree with ben, if u have a bottel opener on your sandles, me thinks u dont care about jerms too much lol nevertheless this is a convient design. we all need some bacteria anyways
i guess they hope people are too drunk to realize you are using a bottle cap on the sole of your sandal
I like the idea, but still don't see how this is broken...
As stated by n1nj4 earlier, the sandal doesn't come into contact with anything but the cap, which is always discarded.
Not broken.
One of my friends had a similar pair of sandals and it was quite handy at a cast party... it was quite a conversation piece (to discuss while drinking the now-opened sparkling apple cider :)
Although perhaps not the cleanest solution, such a pair came in darn handy! And it should only come into contact with the cap... so dare I say not broken?

Yeah, I couldn't see using that after walking across a parking lot. Cool concept other than that, tho.
