Broken: Boston airport welcome sign
Reader Linda submits a picture taken at Boston's Logan airport:
When I arrived at Logan's baggage claim, I was greeted by this sign:
"Gilead Hepatitis Team welcomes you to Boston."
There's a surefire way to make visitors feel welcome in your city!
Actually, I know why the ad was there, but only because I specifically work in this field. A few weeks later Boston hosted the big Liver Meeting.
"Since there was an explanation on why that was there, it's not broken."
You've got to be kidding me. How many visitors do you think see that sign and think, "Oh, well, there must be a reason why that's there," as opposed to, "GOOD LORD! I AM NOT TALKING TO ANYONE IN THIS CITY!!!!! :O"? Perhaps the fact that the sign has a purpose makes it less broken, and I don't think it's that broken anyway, but a reason does not make something not broken altogether.

The only reason there was an explanation is because the poster knew what it referenced.. it would not be known to other people entering boston.. And I would not be very comfortable reading a message saying that the hepatitis team welcomes me anywhere.. I would think they were there due to an epidemic or something in that area.
why y'all gotta be hatin' on the hepatitis team? They've got feelings too ya know... Just kidding. Definitely broken.

That reminds me of when I told my friend what time it was and he said,"I know." Knowing he didn't previously know what time it was I asked him how he knew. He replied,"Because you just told me."

Well I do that very often. :) I hope it annoys some people too.

Okay, fine, i'll just call everything broken and I won't get random responses about me. Might also try not to be the first commenter so no one notices.

That would be a threat and an attempt to get our sympathy and does not actually support your idea that this is not borken.

I have to admitt, though, in the grand scheme of things, this really isn't all that broken. It is, just not a whole lot; I imagine that most people who look at it chuckle or give it a wierd look, then forget about it completetly.

The greenish-gold with white over it is a little hard to read, or maybe it's just the image.
