Broken: Cash machine sign
Kevin Micalizzi submits a picture taken in England:
I was recently on a trip to England and came across this sign on a trash bin at the South Mimms auto service area.
Every trash bin has this sign that says "Cash machine here."
I personally wasn't willing to reach in the garbage can to find the cash machine.
It would have made more sense for the sign on the trash can to say "Cash Machine" and then have an arrow under the text pointing in the direction of the cash machine.
*Darn!* So close.
Simple. You just have to put your credit card in the bin. (It even tells you which credit cards they accept.)
if.
"...IF they are counting..."
You know, it's one thing to make a bona fide typo like 'automqbile' - people know it's a slip of the finger. But making a typo that looks like you just don't know how to speak English ... 'I seen a car!' ... is totally mortifying.
...except that on QWERTY, q and o are on opposite sides of the keyboard, and most people aren't familiar with Dvorak.
DUMP YOUR CASH HERE HELP THE GOVERNMENT WITH INFLATION.
or...
DUMP (stolen) CASH MACHINES HERE.
or...
Sorry no checks allowed
Maybe you have to look on the other sides for it.
But the reasoning for a cash machine combined with a trash bin is broken.
When I saw the photo, I thought it might be a machine that gave you cash if you put litter in it. Now *that* would be good!

However, the trash can might be moved, whereas the cash machine would not be so easily moved, so there shouldn't be an arrow at all.
First.
