Broken: "Off limits" sign
Alex Barrett submits a picture of a sign taken in Anoka, Minnesota:
So...what? Only unauthorized personnel are allowed?
This is a completely undoctored photo. I've seen this sign nearly every day for five years when I drive home from work, and it still makes me laugh. The fence is guarding a few military vehicles at the Army Reserve Center in Anoka.
yeah it probably said off limits to NONauthorized personnel
if it's photoshopped, nice job
if not, nice job
haha okbye
I imagine it's got stick-on lettering (vinyl or something), and someone's peeled off the U and N.
Personally, I think the message one should take from it is that everyone who goes in there will be machine-gunned. The purpose of the sign is to minimise the number of the company's staff to whom this happens.
I agree it probably used to have a couple more letters in front of authorized. What's broken is, that, for five years now, as I understand, nobody cares :) That plainly suggests that the sign is not meant for the public (who may or may not want to enter), but was put up just because someone said it should be put up.
This one is kind of *Iffy to me*...
It could be a PhotoChop Job, it could also be the fact that the letters were *Vinyl* and just pealed off or it was a genuine mistake...
Looks to me like a couple of teenagers peeled off the "U" and "N" so they could jump the fence.
But the fact that no one has fixed it for 5 years shows that they don't really keep anything there that the public hasn't already seen.
I'm sorry, but i must critique...
that's obviously doctored or been peeled off. There's no question. The middle line is off-center in a center-justified sign. It could be vinyl like 3-4 people have already said, or it could be photoshop. That would be just as easy: the sign is pretty straight on and one solid, clean color.

Looks like it used to have a couple more letters... but still a great photo. Leaving it there for 5 years would be the broken part. Can I come in... i promise i'm not authorized! :D
