Broken: "Non-smoking" hotel room
Terrell Jones writes in:
I entered the “non smoking” room at a Motel 6 in Sacramento, California, only to find an ashtray.
So I called the front desk to complain and was told, “Oh, just turn it over, now it's a non-smoking room!”
Firefox rules, and whoever agrees with me put the same thing... wait, what does this have to do with a hotel room?
This would not be broken if they just took a stupid little ash tray out. But it makes you wonder, how many have smoked in your "non-smoking" room? Personally, as long as I can't smell it at all, I don't care.
First of all, The whole no smoking and smoking/Privacy Please and Make up room are broken. Anyone could change it and cause a stir with either the guests or the hotel. Secondly, it isn't that hard to get Firefox. It is safer than Windows/Internet Explorer and It tends to run on about every platform.

what I want to know is, has anyone actually sent a real post in to TIB that TIB is broken in IE
ASAP, ASE, SASE, WTF, RTFM...
sorry, got on a roll there with my abbrv.
Firefox is the better browser, but I prefer, and have no complaints about, IE. It certainly has no flaws significant enough to justify being unsupported, and it is still the most common browser.
Some of us use the internet from places where we don't have the authority to install new software.
I can't borrow my friends computer EVERY time I want to post, and since I normally like to post from work (where I most often have internet access) I can't very well obtain administrative permission to install the program "so that I can post things online"
"Get rid of IE!" or "install something else!" is NOT a possible solution for everyone.
Do nonsmoking rooms cost less? If so, someone could just order a nonsmoking room and flip the ashtray over ,and when they ask him why he's smoking, he'll just say it's because he saw an ashtray.

Or, you could just bring your own ashtray. But if you were really a smoker you should just pay the extra bucks to save the people, like me, who absolutely hate the smell of smoke.

Well, we're trying to change that by making stuff incompatible with IE. That's the whole point. I don't care about the security aspect, it's the page rendering. I never hack my websites with W3C invalid code just to make it look nice. If you're stuck using IE, then just live with it. I'm sure you can just view source and parse it in your head.
Yes, I know it's a browser war. I have nothing intelligent to say about the original post because I don't find anything too broken with it, except how it was rotated incorrectly when the second picture was taken.
Hey, it's just a motel. Whaddy expect.

Also read my last post there:
Someone tell me if Netscape works. To those with only IE:
Mozilla Firefox 1.5
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
Netscape Browser 8.1
http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/
Both are free, and work for PC and Mac.

Broken. The whole point of a non-smoking room is that it's not full of old stale smoke. You can't just turn a room into non-smoking by not smoking while you are there. Otherwise, what's the point of a non-smoking room?
As long as your don't smell smoke, not broken. Otherwise, they really need to take out that ashtray.
Oh, while we're at browser wars... TIB should support Opera!!! It's faster and safer than Firefox :P
Perhaps the ashtray sign is for the staff.
"Please dont smoke whilst making the beds please" sort of thing.
Which of course is broken since the room stil smells of the smoke from when it was a smoking room.
If your a smoker and Bitch Enough they will give you a room if they have them... Done it many times... :)
If not they may point you to a hotel that is...
I think not smoking is better than promoting a Web Browser. How on earth do people manage to even compare the two?
you dont have to install firefox SillyGirl you can get portable browsers like

That's brilliant! At least it's more hacker-proof than those door hangers with "Privacy please" on one side and "Please make up room" on the other. You can really screw with people by flipping them.
