Broken: New York Aquarium website
Laurie Kalmanson writes:
I went to the website of the New York Aquarium in Coney Island and read that "times are posted at the aquarium main entrance and plaza area."
So I imagined my visit to the aquarium going like this:
"Oh, look -- the sign says the penguins were fed two hours before we got here."
This is basic information a visitor would want to know, and should be available on the website so you can plan your visit accordingly.
I just go to the girlie bar for the drinks. If I miss the dancers, so what? Who plans their drinking around whether naked dancers will be present, anyway?
If the feedings for each animal are always within about a 15 minute window every day, then I'd agree that having it listed on the site would make sense, otherwise I'd say its too much work to keep trying to constantly update the site.
If that's the case though, I'd like to see something on the site mentioning that they can't list the times there since they vary day by day. Maybe say something about a general timeframe if its feasible, like "the (insert animal name here) are fed usually around 9am, but check at the gate for actual time."
...sorta broken...
If they feel the animal feedings warrant a page to advertise them as an attraction then its broken not to publish the times.

Why are you planning your day around the feedings? Most people that go to an aquarium plan to spend many hours there. I'm sure they feed them more often then once per day.
I'll admit, if they have the times set beforehand, then why not post them on the site? Maybe the feeding times change often and they don't want to change it on the site everytime.
It's kinda funny though. We plan our schedules around our meals. Now we're planning our schedules around the meals of animals. Seems silly to me.
