Broken: Bathroom sign
Michael Schulman submits a picture taken in Columbus, Indiana:
Is this a bathroom or a conference room? Maybe it is both?
Since I am a male, I could not enter to find out.
I'd also like to add, this sign simply points out the difference between the sexes. For ladies, the restroom is a conference room, whereas guys just don't go to the head together. I think it;s a man-law.
I agree with Jay. Being a woman myself, I can vouch for the accuracy of his statements. The restroom is the female equivalent of the water cooler.
No, it's not broken, it's "Truth in Adverstising"
They've got to be doing SOMETHING else in there besides going to the toliet, it takes them so long.
This is finally the TRUTH being said. This is perhaps the only ladies room sign that IS NOT BROKEN. Now we know that women go the the ladies to talk about men- so it is a combination restroom and conference room. Ever notce there is a couch and/or chairs in there? Now we know why. IT's OUT of the BAG now, girls!
Sorry to disappoint you guys, but... this is broken. There are PLENTY of girls (myself included) who do NOT consider restrooms a place to chat.
Where I work, the men's room is quite lively with chat. Then again we don't have a traditional water cooler (we have a water filtration system in each of the kitchens, two per floor) and it's seen as a big no-no to clog up the kitchens with chatter, so I guess some guys have to take it somewhere else.
Last thing I want to hear while taking a crap is the latest garbage about such-and-such web service breaking or managers joking about how far behind my project is.
I agree with above poster - not all women like to talk in there. I think it is ridiculous for women to talk to each other over the sound of tinkling. On another note, I think men's restrooms are BROKEN! My husband tells me that there are no dividing walls between urinals in some bathrooms. Do men not appreciate privacy?? I find that so barbaric. I love our couches, chairs, walls, potpurri, etc.
Could this be the ladies room associated with a nearby confrence room?
re: "My husband tells me that there are no dividing walls between urinals in some bathrooms. Do men not appreciate privacy??"
Fairly often, when the washroom designer doesn't put in seperators(very rare to see dividing walls higher than 3'), only every second urinal is used(even when there is a lineup).(unless someone is in a big hurry)
re: women talking(gossiping) in washrooms.
Most of us men only have scenes in movies to go by.
