Broken: Restroom signage
Andrew Koch points out the bathroom sign at Jack's Bar in Warren, Rhode Island - with a much newer "men" sign under an older "ladies" sign. Which is it? Both? Are you sure?
Wow. Er, how do you not notice something like that when mounting a new sign? Which ever one is newer... I would think they would take the other down when hanging the new one!
That's easy, it's clearly the men's ro-- EEEEEEK! Uh, I mean women's room. (pit pat pit pat pit slam screech vroooom!)
Applebees does that too, except they have the gentelment sign on the front of the door and the ladies sign on the back. It gets me every time for some reason.
In the building where I work the restrooms are in the same place on each floor - the men's on the right of the water fountain, and women's on the left -- EXCEPT on the 2nd floor for some unfathomable reason where they are reversed. Of course this means whenever I feel the 'call' on the 2nd floor, I end up accidentally going into (and quickly exiting) the women's room.

If that's the only bathroom, then it's clearly meant to be unisex. Without additional information, not broken.
_@_v - remind me of some of the bathroom signage on the starship enterprise - "to boldy go where no man has gone before"
totally not broken- for both sexes- one can only hope that for the ladies there are walls surrounding the 'facilities' or if they have to rough it-
Where I work there are no signs on the bathroom doors. When I first started working here I thought they were storage areas and wondered where the bathrooms were.
That could happen, for example in a college dorm, where there are normally 2 women's bathrooms and 2 men's, but one year they get more of one gender, so they have to switch the sign.
well yeah on the stall thing.. except for in rest areas... most the stalls tend to be the first thing you see and then the urinals are around the corner.. at least my that's what I remember from last trip I took..
Alex B- The offices in the science building in Fairfield U is like that as well. I didn't realize it for a while, but fortunately no one saw me before I noticed the switch.

its specifying the kind of man that can enter. the term is 'ladies man,' but it has been made plural to accomodate the assumed multiple users.
both signs look beat up. does jack run a rough bar?
