Broken: Belkin iPod battery
This is the product description page for the Belkin External iPod Battery. Check out the "Advantages." ("Not compatible with iPod Mini.")
Since when is not being compatible with something an advantage?
god hates the Ipod minis! he who owns an I pod mini will pick a pocket. my grandmother beat me wih an I pod mini. An I pod mini killed my dog.
This goes well with my ferry service who recently reported they were enhancing service by offering boats with outdoor seating and reducing the number of trips per hour from 4 to 3. I read that sentence over and over again, and realized they had couched a reduction in service (fewer trips per hour) inside a somewhat meaningless benefit (outdoor seating).
Anyway, i guess they just put all specifications under 'Advantages', *irregardless* of whether it actually can be considered an advantage.

BREAD
Advantages-
-Gets stale and moldy
-Good on sandwiches
-Etc. etc.
That doesn't mean that I still don't have a mini. And my 3.5 hr battery life is starting to get on my nerves.

_@_v - so basically by packing the ferry so tight they hafta seat people outside the boat they can run fewer trips per hour...
_@_v - next year they'll offer 2 trips an hour and hand you a rope so you can be dragged behind the boat...
---"Not broken! The mini has been discontinued."
...how does that make not supporting it an advantage?
What's really broken about this battery is that the dock connector doesn't have the catches that 'official' cables have. This means that the only way to ensure that the battery stays connected while on the move is to use a rubber band around the whole mess of battery and iPod.
brock rumer,
I was under the impression that there were suction cups to hold the iPod in place.
"Discreet suction cups secure the unit to the back of your iPod, without marring your iPod's finish."
Are you saying that they don't work? Because if so then that is something else broken about this product.
@Sean P:
The suction cups hold the actual pack on fine, but the cable does not have the little catches on the end, so it can easily slide out.
They wanted "Not compatible with Mini" to be prominent, without clutterint up the ad.
It's not an elegant solution, but i wouldn't really consider it broken . . .
What is really broken is that in the uper right corner is a symbol that says "For iPods with dock connector." The iPod mini has a dock connector. It should read Not compatible with iPod Shuffle.
I hate the iPods batteries. I know that the more you charge a battery, the less charge it will hold, but when Apple produced the iPod, they gave it a unreplaceable battery, unless you are willing to send it back to Apple to be "Rebuilt". Thus forcing you to buy external battery pack after battery pack to continue using the iPod or you have the option of spending another $150 on a new iPod. Ill stick to my Creative one thank you very much.
