Broken: Parking sign
Creed Combs asks, "Where do I park the back half of my car?"
OK this is almost too stupid. You Park the front end of the car in towards the curb so security can easily see if people are illegally parked (i.e., those with no decals). This is a private parking area. DUH!
Hehe, I went to BCC Central (where that pic was taken) for two years and I never wondered about the "other" side of my car.
This sign is common to college campuses. The purpose is stated by Ed above. But also the decal is to determined if the vehicle is parked in the correct zone i.e. faculty or student.
the sign is not broken!, but i think the meaning of the sign is broken...why can i not back into a spot...if want to? whats the diffrence..front end, back end, personaly i perfur to back in to a spot cuz it makes it ezer to leave , the sign it self is self explainitory...i just dont understand the premise of the sign...
When I saw this I thought it meant to park only at the front end of the area, but then I read the comments about the college campuses...I don't know what to think now.
I would say this is broken. It's a bit unclear. A better wording would be:
DECAL REQUIRED
FORWARD PARKING ONLY
DO NOT BACK INTO PARKING SPACES
Yeah. I've seen signs that say "No back-in parking," which seem to make slightly more sense to me. I suppose it's to make identification of the vehicles easier (at least here), since in my state doesn't require license plates on the front bumper.
Broken , unclear, or just confusing.... Why let it bother you. Just a laugh.
Well, since the college uses a hanging tag that you put on your mirror, not a decal on the bumper, and since the tags tend to break & end up on your dash.... They are hard to see if the car is parked front end into the spot / toward another car or building.
The town has an ordinance that doesn't allow backed in parking, due to an officer getting shot while walking behind a parked car to get it's plate number.
Who's to say?
"Another thing, that iPod Gremlins ad is really stupid."
I wonder what it's going to be like when that ad DOES go away? People will be like, "WHAT?!?!?"

Mr. Combs, can you tell us what this sign is supposed to mean? My guess is that you are required to park "front-in" (meaning you cannot reverse into a spot) and that you must have a decal on your car to indicate you have the right to park in this lot.
Or: Do you work for a company called "Front End" which shares its lot with other organizations?
