Broken: Kmart selection (just for fun)
VidVicar writes:
Go to kmart.com
In the search box near the upper left corner, enter the words "Grocery Bags" and press enter.
The result:
We're Sorry! We couldn't find "grocery bags".
Hmmm, guess sales at Super-K stores might be a little slow?
[Commenters, note the category here: just for fun. -mh]
Wow.
It can't find 'Malaysian Servants', either. Perhaps this is because 'grocery bags' and 'malaysian servants' aren't SKUed items? Would you expect the checkout stands to appear in the online catalogue? (Quick check: nope; apparently the store infrastructure isn't available for sale.)
There is something broken here, but it's not on Kmart's end...
Seriously... as a test i went to walmart's site and made the same search.. they didnt sell grocery bags.. but they sold books about them.. makes you wonder.. who would read that book. But definitely not broken.
ok. i get the joke you were trying to make. but you gotta admit it was a little obscure and as you see above, easy to miss. also, sadly, not actually, well, "funny."
Interesting, though, that when i typed in 'garbage bags' it gave me two camp tables.
maybe the search is broken...
One other thing that is broken is the change to their logo. On the newly redesigned stores they are no longer using Kmart but are instead using kmart. But, when you see just the K on some of their advertising it is the uppercase K logo that has been associated with Kmart forever. I find the change of case to be really disconcerting.
Sam,
Actaully I was having fun, and with the right key phrases it is kid of funny, although I prefer the vulgar derogatory searches to "grocery bags"
This isn't broken! This doesn't pass the 15 layers of pedantic taxonomic categorization that the readers of this blog demand!
I think what's really broken is these people's funny bone. :)
Well, IT'S NOT FUNNY!
I might chuckle for about 1/2 a second but no more. That's not saying I think there's anything wrong with this entry.
It's just that I don't see why Mike Hurst can't just select another, MORE FUNNY one of his "50 submissions a week." If most of them are worse than this, well, then people send stupid things in.
Relative only to the fact that this post pertains to KMart: Since merging with Sears, should they merge the name too? SMart
Wow! It's not broken at all. I typed in "shit" and got back 52 shirts that really DO look like shit!
I went on the website to find myself. I entered me and there were no results displayed. However on the left-hand side, it did say there were other waya to find me. Alas, I am off on another journey. Ta ta!
_@_v - looky what 'shit' returns!
http://www.kmart.com/catalog/search.jsp?N=0&Nty=1&Ntk=All&Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&Ntt=shit
_@_v - and for the record if you search for "snail"...
My favorite, building off Joshua Wood's suggestion:
"More ways to find > f*ck"
I definitely need more ways to find that...
i'm not an objective observer, but i'm easily amused enough to identify with people spending hours wading through searches to see what turns up...

Er, how is that broken? I don't consider grocery bags to be part of the public inventory/stock, unless it's in reference to reusable canvas bags or something...
