Broken: Buy.com Game Boy cable price
This was pointed out by a reader in the This Is Broken discussion boards: Buy.com is selling a Game Boy Advance Link Cable for a premium price. It must be made out of super-refined platinum wires!
Our Price: $1,149,998.99
See the live page here, before it's corrected.
What is the URL for the discussion boards? I can't find a link to them anywhere on this site or the goodexperience site.
I think the discussion board remark is referring to my post in http://broken.typepad.com/b/2004/08/prices_that_end.html#comments discussing prices that end in 99. I used the $1,149,998.99 cable as a meta-example. The fact that it's been at that price for more than a week makes it even more broken.
Also, as far as ridiculously priced wires that shady stores advertise as "super-refined platinum wires" and other nonsense go, Dan's Data has been debunking those things for years:

I'm a programmer and we do have something similar on our site. For complex reasons, some products should not be sold to the common public. However, if there's a problem and someone does find it, we have a safeguard that lets us notice that easily (and also prevent customers from buying it) which sets the price to a ridiculous 7 figure amount.
That could be the case here too.
Arpie, this looks more like two prices, 1149.99 and 8.99 (the correct price) have been concatenated somehow. Possibly someone entered the price for a different item by mistake, and then forgot to delete it before entering the correct price.
They fixed it when I looked but now it says
"this GAME is rated ***** by 1 rating"
The GBA link cable is my favorite game...
LOL. that was nintendo trying to recover from the PS2 and xbox(both of which are ok, but gamecube is the best!)

I would consider that more of a mistake than anything really broken. If things like that showed up frequently at Buy.com, then something would be broken.
