Broken: Restaurant pricing
Kelly Thomsen sends in this sign advertising a free meal that's not really free. She writes:
This chalkboard was in the entry of a Big Boy in Clinton, Ohio. The people who worked there were really confused by the fact that we were so interested in taking a picture of their sign!
... maybe it was a trick, or maybe it was written by a kid... or maybe it was written by a person with an attention span so small, they couldn't remember what they were doing. They forgot that it was free by the time they finished writing "meal."
That's just another posibility.
Maybe it means "Free Kids Meals with other meals over $1.00". Then again, I can't think of any meals that would be under $1.00 anyway...
It could also be a joke... that could explain the bad handwriting. Someone could have intentionally written that as a prank or something.
It might be a canabalizm joke "Free [range] kids meals, $1.00 [meal]" then again, the grammar isn't quite right.
Seems to me this is a poorly worded message selling Halloween giveaway coupons for a buck, like McDonald's does with coupons for "Free French Fries" at Halloween time.
Look, people, someone else clearly came along and wrote the "for $1.00" after the sign was finished. Now whether that was an employee or not, and the intention of the writer, is left in question, but it's pretty clear that the handwriting in "for $1.00" is not the same as any of the rest of the handwriting on the sign (notice in particular the capital "R").
ha ha ha i luv it.things like this keep me going at work.i luv the people that come up with it all.i think it could be down to kids!!!that or an adult just cant write so save their life!
