Broken: All-encompassing sign
Here's a sign that I saw in a small pull-off from the main coastal road near Bermagui, in New South Wales, on Australia's south-eastern coast. Even on closer inspection, I could only read the one word on it. But what a powerful word! When I took the photo, I wondered if I'd be prosecuted for doing so.
Reminds me of a certain Yoko Ono art exhibition where she allegedly had built a ladder or a staircase towards the ceiling. On the ceiling, there would be a tiny label saying "Yes".
I'd comment on this, but I won't out of fear that the sign originally said "No commenting on this sign"...
I think some kid may have painted over the 'parking' or whatever was under the no as a joke. Bet he didn't know it would get on the internet!
There used to be a sign like this on the fence of Meigs Field (airport) in Chicago. The fence separated the runways from a public beach, and simiar signs in the area said "No kite flying." It's one of my favorite pictures.
