Broken: Stock photo in SF Marriott elevator

Spotted in the elevator of the San Francisco Marriott, above the door where they have a panel of advertisements:

Someone at the Marriott didn't bother to buy the rights to the stock photo. (They couldn't take a picture of their own beer?)

Haha what? Oh! So, If iStockPhoto sees that, Mariott has to pay a bunch of money to them right?

To avoid buying images they might not end up using, sometimes designers use watermarked images before their final draft. That said, actually going to print with one is quite the oversight! Good catch.

Also, using the phrase "Drop by for a short stop..." may not be the most appropriate for an elevator. ;-)

And wouldn't the tag line have more of an impact if there was some baseball imagery in there? Oh, so many broken things...

I always thought it could happen but I have never seen it. Great find.
