second life is free, though to buy some things you may need to pay. and iphone service can be a tad expensive, especaly due to lack of a family plan.

i own both a 360 and a wii. i recomend them both, but for different audiences. anyone under 13 and over about 30 would probobly perfer the wii. however an avid gamer would quickly run out of games to play.

the 360 is great for standard gamers, with a few extra features worth mentioning.

the first is the marketplace. with it you can buy tv shows ($2 for sd $3 for hd) and rent movies for almost immediate consumption right on your tv. also check out live arcade, with a great variety of games, most family friendly, for pretty cheap ($4, 8 or 12). demos are also avalible for free, and most big manufacturers put one out before a big title launches.

the second big feature is xbox live, which for 50 dollars a year gets you the best online play avalible anywhere. an easy to understand and use system of reporting offensive users makes it easy to block out annoying people or report cheaters.

reccomended games for the 360 are halo 3, skate, bioshock, and the orange box from valve.
