Broken: Microsoft Office message

From the This Is Broken group on Flickr, ux-sa submits this Microsoft Office Publisher error message:

ms-office-error.jpg

"Opening this publication will access data from the following location: Error: This publication was created in a later version of Publisher and contains connections to multiple data sources. This version ..."

...and on and on it goes. What does it all mean?

Basically, from what I can tell, the version the file was built from has a feature that the version the computer has is lacking. And that while you can open the file, the best way to do so is to use the "Work without merged information" mode.

And it seems to be a major feature that lets you use multiple outside sources of information at once.
